Happy Half-Birthday Nicole!

I realized the other day that Nicole was going to be 7 1/2 and decided to do a "half birthday" party. This means everything you normally do, you do in half. We started with half a birthday card.

Allyson decorated the inside.

When she came downstairs, Nicole was pretty surprised to find out it was her half birthday!

Daddy made breakfast. Half-pancakes.

And half an egg.

Later we took the girls to Firehouse Pottery to make something. We let them do the "whole" item instead of breaking it in half. Nicole chose a panda because she loves all things China.

Allyson chose a turtle magnet. Daddy helped her paint it.

Allyson finished her project pretty quickly so kept herself busy with the toys which were, thankfully, right next to our table.

I decided to make a tile. Unfortunately, they didn't have any big enough to fit both girls' hands. Nicole's hand now takes up a medium sized tile! So I used their fingerprints to make little flowers, instead. Here the lady is helping me because I didn't trust myself to get their fingerprints on there right.

I painted over the stickers and later took them off in order to make polka dots.

These are the finished products. We'll get them back next week to see how they really turn out after being fired.

That evening Daddy had to work so I took the girls to the dollar theatre to see Madagascar 3. Boy, did they laugh! Crazy movie. My plan had been to bake half a cake but the movie took too much time. So we stopped by the store and did this the easy way. The girls were just as happy with store-bought as the made-from-scratch kind. (They just don't know any better.)

Of course, we had to cut it in half.

Oh, and half a candle! Lol

Happy Half-Birthday Nicole!
